Six years? It seems like only 72 months (14/06/2004)
IT Reviews went live six years ago this week. I believe that Internet years are like dog years - they're worth seven human years each - so this site is actually approaching the ripe old age of 42. No wonder our joints are playing up, and staying out all night on the razz is becoming more of a chore than a pleasure.
But anyway, if you've read the stuff about the editor, you'll know that I launched this site so that I could (a) provide a forum for free, unbiased information about IT products and (b) get free PlayStation games. Somewhat surprisingly, (b) fell by the wayside as it became clear that (a) was proving quite popular.
So here we are, six (or 42) years later, and the site design is still visually bland. Content over style, that's us. Some of the freelance journalists and other helpful contributors to this site have stayed with us since the beginning, others have been replaced by new faces. And I don't even own a PlayStation any more.
To stretch the dog-years metaphor just a little, people often change dramatically when they hit their 40s. But not for us the arm-candy totty and inappropriate sports car of the mid-life crisis, damn it. Instead we'll be sticking with what we (think we) do best; churning out more and better product reviews so that you know what to buy and what to avoid.
Thanks for your support over the last six years.
