Verdict
new graphics card using Nvidia's G92 GPU (14/02/2008)
The Asus EN8800GTS looks very similar to existing GTS models as it uses a double-slot design, however it also comes with 512MB of memory.
The cooling package is similar to the current GTS and GTX, but the cooling fan sits at an angle to the main PCB to avoid having the airflow hit a second graphics card if you're using SLI.
Nvidia has cranked up the speed of the core and stream processors in the G92, no doubt because the new fabrication process reduces power consumption, however the use of a 256-bit memory controller pulls the speed back down and the clock speed of the memory has also been reduced below the 2GHz mark.
The new GT card employs 112 stream processors compared to the original GTS which has 96. This new GTS has 128 just like the GTX and Ultra, and the result is that the new GTS has very similar performance to the original GTS, however the GT isn't as far behind as the specification might suggest.

If you fancy overclocking your graphics card you'll find that the core will run close to 700MHz and the memory should hit 2GHz.
