Who is the Editor of IT Reviews?
Q) What products do you accept for review?
A) Any product that falls into one of the main categories - Hardware, Software and Games (PC, PlayStation, etc.). Because of the focus of IT Reviews, we don't carry a great deal of corporate networking equipment reviews, but most other subjects will be covered.
Q) Who will be reviewing our product?
A) All our reviews are written by professional IT journalists. The people who review items for IT Reviews are specialists in their field. Every one has been in this industry for at least five years, and all have worked on at least one of the mainstream PC titles, such as PC Magazine, PC Week, PC Gaming World, IT Week, PC Direct, ComputerActive and so on. Most are still regular contributors to some of those titles. We don't use trainee or amateur writers.
Q) How do we submit products for review?
A) You MUST obtain an agreement with IT Reviews first. Contact us, including a brief description of the product and its target market. If we decide to review the product, we will get in touch. Sorry, we can't respond to all requests as we receive so many. Reviewed products will be required for a period of one week, after which they will be ready for collection. The supplier pays postage/courier for collection and delivery. Note that any products submitted without prior agreement with IT Reviews may not be reviewed, and will only be available for collection at our convenience.
Q) What should we provide with our review products?
A) Be sure to include PR contact information (you'd be surprised how many forget...) along with the important details; price, sales phone number and sales Web site URL. These three pieces of information will be published on IT Reviews, so make sure that they are accurate.
Q) When will the review appear on the IT Reviews site?
A) Usually, within one week of the product being submitted. We cannot guarantee to review all products submitted, but we will do our best to cover the vast majority.
Q) Do you review beta or pre-production software or hardware?
A) No. Please only supply finished equipment and boxed software (UK-specific).
Q) What happens if you make a mistake in the review?
A) We strive for accuracy in all our reviews, but please note that reviews are based on the reviewers' experience of the products, and are by definition opinions. Every effort will be made to ensure that the factual details are correct. In the event that a mistake is made, as soon as we are notified we will correct the mistake or, if appropriate, publish a correction at the end of the review.
Q) Can we reprint a review or pull a quote for marketing purposes?
As long as you obtain written permission from us, you may lift a quote of up to 50 words from any review and use it for marketing purposes free of charge. If you wish to use more than 50 words, or the entire review, whether online or on paper, reprint rights can be obtained for a small fee. Please contact us for more information, and note that the text of reprinted reviews must not be altered in any way. The copyright of all reviews belongs to IT Reviews, and unauthorised reproduction is prohibited.
Q) Can we bribe you with beer, food, parties and trips to sunny climes?
A) No, but don't let that stop you trying. Invitations to press conferences, parties and business/social events won't make a jot of difference to the content of reviews of your products on IT Reviews, but our writers are usually entertaining company on such occasions. Just ask...
Help! Please write for us...
We can do that. Our writers are experienced in many areas of technology, and can produce press releases, case studies, white papers and other documents on a contract basis. Contact us for details, but please be aware that this will in no way influence any decision to review your products, nor the contents of any such review.
