EA has announced that it will be producing the game of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to coincide with the launch of the film later this year.

It will be released on all major formats, including PC, X360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2 and Mac. The Wii version sounds interesting, as the developer has commented that it will be particularly focusing on the console's unique control system and what it can bring to the world of spell flinging. Start brushing up on your wand techniques now.

The story involves Harry returning to Hogwarts for a sixth year, with Voldemort up to no good (as ever) and adolescent hormones bubbling all round. Expect the usual wizard duels, Quidditch matches, plus the joys of Ron's romantic entanglements, apparently. Sounds potentially painful.
