If you've been a fan of Fujifilm's FinePix compact cameras then you'll be delighted to learn about the imminent arrival of the latest in the F-Series model range, the F100fd.
Packed with a load of new features, Fujifilm is proclaiming it as one of the most sophisticated compact digital cameras the company has ever produced. Packing a 12-megapixel, 8th generation Super CCD, it boasts a powerful Fujinon 5x wide-angle optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch, 230,000-pixel, wide-angle view LCD.
One of the innovations revealed here is the new wide dynamic range capture functionality that was first introduced into the FinePix S3 Pro and later perfected in the S5 Pro, and which now dramatically broadens tonal capability.
In addition, the F100fd incorporates the latest Face Detection 3.0 technology which can detect up to 10 human faces in a scene in as little as .035 seconds, will automatically correct focus, exposure and white balance and automatically removes red-eye. What's more, it can identify faces at more extreme camera angles than before.
If that wasn't enough, Fujifilm throws in Dual Image Stabilisation which combines a mechanically stabilised Super CCD sensor with high ISO sensitivities that reach ISO 3200 at full resolution and an amazing ISO 12800 at reduced resolutions.
