Buffalo has announced the release of its LinkTheater HD (LT-H90LAN), a multimedia player that lets you stream content from the likes of a computer, media server, UPnP device or USB storage device.
The unit, designed to sit under your television (and Buffalo claims that it's a compact piece of equipment), features connections for 10/100Mbps LAN, HDMI, composite and SCART, and supports a wide variety of video and audio formats, including H.264m Xvid and AVCHD on the video side, and Dolby Digital AC-3 for audio. It can also be used to display images, with most key formats seemingly supported.
The price of the unit - which is going on sale towards the end of March 2008 from a selection of e-tailers - is set to be around the £90 mark.
