Shuttle has once again been busy, this time launching a mini PC solution with a price tag that's equally compact. The Shuttle Barebone K45 is based on the Intel 945GC, and is tooled up and ready to accept dual core processors from Intel.
It's a device aimed at those looking for a thin client, home server or low cost entry into the world of small form factor computing, and that's reflected in a price tag of 94 euros (that's an ex-VAT price, though).
But that doesn't mean it's a slouch. The K45 has an Intel chipset, gigabit LAN, room for a pair of hard drives and can be equipped with WLAN. What's lacking is the usual room for an optical drive, and also the front port connections you traditionally associate with a small form factor PC.
