Mid-capacity media and MP3 players are on the rise, following news of a number of companies jumping on the 32GB bandwagon in fairly quick succession.
After rounding off a swathe of improvements to the popular Zen Stone player, Creative now seems content with this particular range and has turned its attention back to the original Zen, which was first to bat with a spacious 32GB number. Other features such as the 2.5-inch display, FM radio and voice recorder are still here, and there's no increase in the footprint either, which is still around the size of a credit card.
Sandisk's Sansa View is currently available in 32GB versions in the US and is similarly specced, though quite a bit chunkier, and set to arrive on our shores soon.
The big news for many though will be the 32GB iPod Touch, which, with built-in WiFi, has the others trumped in terms of features but obviously involves a price premium.
There are no prices confirmed for the Sansa player yet, though we'd expect this to be the cheapest. Creative's new Zen has a sticker price of £249, with Apple's 32GB Touch coming in at £329, both of which are available now.
