This is what we want. Transcend has announced its latest external storage device, and proudly confirmed that it complies with US military grade anti-shock protection. Granted, we can think of few occasions when any of us by choice would opt to take 250GB of externally stored data into the middle of a warzone, but it's all reassuring nonetheless.
The product in question is the StoreJet 25, a device that also comes with an auto-backup button to quickly and instantly get your files duped onto the drive. The bundled software also, as you'd expect, gives you the option of scheduling backups. Supporting Windows 2000, XP and Vista, along with MacOS 9 or later (as well as Linux kernel 2.4.2), the compact unit will be on sale shortly, with a price to be confirmed.
