What we have here is a very easy to use piece of software, like ecBuilder. If anything though, eGenie is even more simplistic. As you click an entry on the tree-like display, so the window alongside displays the relevant form to complete. Again, like most of the others here, eGenie offers the ability to change the fonts for various sections of the catalogue. You can also choose an overall theme from the 50 or so available.
Adding items to your online catalogue is a one by one affair; you can enter a name and a price, plus a picture for each item. You also get lists of variables to cater for 'size' or 'colour' options.
A basic tax percentage can be levied on sections of your catalogue, although not for individual items. Delivery charges are also quite simple; you can create as many as you like for the customer to choose from at time of purchase, but these are overall for the entire order - no weight-based calculations or individual product delivery charges.
To deal with payments, eGenie simply asks you which credit cards you can accept, and that's about it. No online processing is handled at the moment, so you will need a 'customer not present' merchant account with your bank to process the orders manually. These are downloaded from your Web site into the Front Desk order-processing applet included with the software.
